Leverkusen boasts a superior infrastructure of sports venues enjoying exemplary promotion by the city and Bayer AG. Athletes from this city have celebrated successes in many national and international competitions. And the global operator Bayer has long been a familiar trademark on the professional sports scene as well. Olympic gold medal winners and world champions are members of Bayer sports clubs.

Although popular sports for non-professionals are also of great importance in over 120 of Leverkusen's sports clubs.

The BayArena Stadium is regarded as the pride and joy of the national football league.
